Surprise.. Jackie Chan has just confirmed Rush Hour 4 is in the works!

Rush Hour star Jackie Chan has confirmed that he’s in talks for Rush Hour 4.
Appearing at the Red Sea International Film Festival, as reported by Variety, the 68-year-old martial arts star confirmed that Rush Hour 4 is underway.
“We’re talking about Rush Hour 4 right now,” he revealed.
The upcoming Rush Hour sequel has reportedly been in the works for a while with Chris Tucker revealing back in 2018 that a fourth installment was on the cards.
“It’s happening,” he said. “This is gonna be the rush of all rushes. Jackie is ready and we want to do this so that people don’t ever forget it.”
Around the same time, director Brett Ratner apparently claimed he would be making the film, despite producers stating otherwise.
“Brett has been walking around town telling people he’s going to direct a Rush Hour movie because it’s his only way back in,” a studio executive told THR. “He’s trying to make believe he’s employable.”
However, several months prior to this, Ratner was accused of sexual misconduct and was forced to exit the Wonder Woman franchise.
Rush Hour producer Arthur Sarkissian confirmed that Ratner was “not attached” and said: “All I’m interested in is to make the best movie possible.”
Who will take on Rush Hour 4 remains to be seen. However, Chan still fondly remembers the success of the original movie. “I got a phone call. Brett Ratner and Chris Tucker call me from New York,” he said. “They’re crazy. We were $70 million in the first weekend. For me, I don’t know how to count.”
Rush Hour made a total of $244 million at the box office and saw both Chan and Tucker return for two sequels, Rush Hour 2 and Rush Hour 3.
“There are so many good action stars,” said Chan. “My action is better than some other people, not because I’m really good, but because I write a script suitable for myself. I can use the camera angle to make my action better. At night, I go home and edit myself and use those kinds of things to make my action better.”
Despite his apparent return in Rush Hour 4, Chan also promised to make more romance movies and fewer action movies.
